Fundraising Consulting

Living Up to Your Potential
“You should do a third party event at our restaurant. We could give you 10% of the take on a Monday night…”

“Have you ever considered doing a donation drive in Laurelhurst…”

“Why don’t you offer business sponsorships?”

These are the kinds of well-meaning questions that can overwhelm many development teams. Due largely to a shortage of resources and time and a tendency to fall into comfortable routines, nonprofits often fall short of their fundraising potential.

I can offer a fresh perspective and my own Rolodex of contacts to your fundraising efforts, helping you tackle those nagging “what-ifs” in a productive way that brings in more funds without making more work for your team.

My strengths lie in my ability to generate creative fundraising solutions, my audacity in approaching small business owners I know (and don’t know) about sponsorships and third party events, and my ability to coordinate these efforts efficiently.

Over the past summer, I helped the Montavilla Farmers Market raise $11,000 in its first year of operation through a mixture of donation drives, business sponsorships, third party events and merchandise sales.

I also worked for 18 months with the Oregon Chapter of the National MS Society, helping them spruce up their marketing collateral, resulting in record-breaking years for their major fundraising events, the MS Walk and the MS 150 Bike Tour, among others.

Even if you’re only planning a coherent, persuasive fundraising letter, I can help you out. Contact me at 503 754 2636 or kristin@mixedmediapdx.com to set up a free one-hour consultation.
